Sengoku Otome Manga Ends
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The February issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine published the last chapter of Hachiman and Rio Nanamomo's Hyakka Ryōran Sengoku Otome -Karakuri Sōdō-hen- manga on December 27. The magazine's previous issue noted in November that the manga was approaching its climax. The manga launched last July.
The manga is based on Heiwa's Sengoku Otome pachinko game. The original 2008 game re-imagines Japan's tumultuous sengoku jidai (Era of Warring States) with all of the warriors as female characters.
Hachiman draws the art for the manga, with Nanamomo credited for storyboard production. Heiwa is credited for the original work, and Shirogumi is credited for the script.
The Sengoku Otome franchise inspired a 2011 television anime. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan with the title Battle Girls - Time Paradox, and Sentai Filmworks released the anime on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2013.
