Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced on Thursday that it has licensed Megu Sakura's 170 cm Otometica manga.
The manga centers on Otome, an introverted, plain looking, 170-cm-tall high school girl who is often called the "Totem Pole Girl." She is the daughter of an owner of a modeling agency, and her dream is to follow in her father's footsteps and make a great debut for Karen, the company's sole model. When the company runs into trouble and loses its talent, a painter named Nanao steps in. With his skills that can turn any woman beautiful, he turns Otome into the company's new model.
Sakura launched the manga in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine in 2013, and ended it in 2014. Kodansha published two compiled book volumes for the manga.
Elex Media previously serialized Sakura's manga adaptation of Hitomi Fujimoto and Ryō Sumitaki's Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note children's mystery novel series in the Indonesian edition of Nakayoshi, and released both volumes of the manga on March 23 and 29. Sakura launched the manga in Nakayoshi in October 2015, and ended it in January 2016.
