Psycho-Pass and Kokoro Connect Released Monday

Manga Entertainment will release the first 22-part season of Psycho-Pass on Blu-ray (pictured) and DVD on Monday September 1. The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person's state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term "Psycho->Pass" in the anime's title refers to a standard used to measure an individual's being. The story centers around the "enforcement officer" Shinya Kōgami (Tomokazu Seki) who is tasked with managing crime in such a world. Naoyoshi Shiotani (Blood+, Tokyo Marble Chocolate) directed the series, Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) wrote and edited the scripts, and Akira Amano (Reborn!) designed the characters. It is produced by Production I.G, which will also start broadcasting the sequel, Psycho-Pass 2, in Japan in October.
MVM will release the 13-part TV series Kokoro Connect on DVD. It is an anime adaptation of Sadanatsu Anda's Kokoro Connect light novel series. The "love and teen pentagonal comedy" follows the strange phenomena at the Yamahoshi Academy's Culture Club, starting with the five male and female club members switching bodies with each other. The OVA sequel will be released by MVM on October 13.
