Viral Pokémon Sword/Shield TV Ad Shows Game's Graphic Improvements Through the Generations

The latest television commercial ad for the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Nintendo Switch games trended on YouTube and social media after the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel posted it online on Thursday. The ad uses graphics from Pokémon games from each generation to depict the evolution of the game's art over time. As the Pokémon gather around the real-life actors holding their gaming consoles, a light appears, and all the Pokémon transform into uniform 3D models.
Comments about the commercial on Twitter remarked on the high quality of the visuals and level of detail in the ad, as well as the nostalgia that it evokes.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will ship worldwide for the Switch on November 15.
