Mario, Toad, Yoshi, and even the marauding Bowser are all together as new stuffed toys at Build-A-Bear Workshop. Mario, in this case more bear than plumber, can be outfitted with new clothes and accessories in the U.S., U.K., and Canada stores beginning this weekend. Yoshi's available too, while Toad only comes pre-stuffed and Bowser is slightly more rare. The stuffed friends mark the first time Nintendo's Super Mario characters have come to Build-A-Bear. If you can't wait until this weekend, they're available in the online stores right now.
These characters don't just dress up like their adventuring counterparts, but they sound like them too. The Mario bear can include a sound chip that plays the Super Mario Bros. theme song. Bowser has a 5-in-1 sound add on, including an intimidating gaffaw.
For those who can't get enough of Mario in a wedding dress, Peach's princess dress is one of the outfits for purchase so do with that what you will.
Other outfits include a Mario hoodie, wrist accessories that include a Super Star, Yoshi egg, and Super Mushroom. Worried that Luigi is always being picked over for his lead brother? You can also buy his outfit for a complete set of heroes.
Build-A-Bear has rolled out more licensed friends recently, especially from the Pokémon family. Meowth, Vulpix, Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander, and Squirtle have all made appearances over the last few years.
