Poochy Enjoys a Slice of Cake in Cute Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World Ad

Poochy hasn't mastered fetch but the dog does know how to enjoy a tasty slice of cake. Nintendo began streaming a new stop-motion animation commercial for the Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World 3DS game. The 3DS port of the Nintendo Wii U game hits store shelves on February 3.

Over on Nintendo's YouTube channel, two Yoshi decide to see which one is the fastest.

Poochy may seem like a new character to gamers, but he actually dates back to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for the Super Nintendo.

In Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World players can unlock 30 animated shorts "showing the daily life of Yoshi and Poochy." The above short will be one of those available in the game. DWARF, the studio behind the animation of NHK's mascot character Domo, is animating the shorts.

The 3DS version will feature every single stage from the original Wii U version, plus exclusive new stages starring Poochy. The new version also adds Poochy pups, who provide players helpful hints when summoned.

Nintendo is also offering a Yarn Poochy amiibo. Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World for Nintendo 3DS and the Yarn Poochy amiibo will be available separately and together in a bundle when the game ships.
