Is that the series that had some shooting done in Australia?

Uh, are you talking about Ultraman: Toward the future (aka Ultraman Great)? That's the only Ultraman series I know that was done in Australia (I watched the series on Hulu). |

One question Omiya, I know Ultraman is supposed to be a kid show but I was surprised in one episode one of the main character spoiler[said s*it, a strong expletive on a kid show], is that common for Australian kid show to use such strong language/expletive on TV? |

I'm sure that it happens (but I haven't watched Australian children's television in a long time). |

Beside that, when I watched all the episodes on Hulu I heard other profanities spoiler[like damn, and hell used in that show too] when I watched Ultraman: Toward the future on Hulu. I know Australia is a little prune when it comes to violent video game but using strong language on a kid show, that blew my mind. |

Oh gosh this is really funny. I've been trying to recreate my old OP credits tape that a friend gave to me decades ago. One of the credits was Ultraman 80. Now what were the odds that the show would get streamed. I may have to check this out as I've watched the older Ultraman series when it was ported to the states back in the late 70's.

Ultraman tends to try and skew itself towards a broader audience than that of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. I think the designation "family show" may be more appropriate; think a slightly more child-friendly Star Trek with aliens wrestling. Even though Ultraman: Towards the Future was filmed in Australia, it still had many Japanese folks writing it. I'm sure some of the usual tropes and stylings seeped over. |

I'm aware of that. But I'm surprised to see an Australian kid show like Ultraman allowing profanity (even strong one shown on Aussie TVs). This isn't the first time Tsuburaya Productions did a co-productions with another country. They did a Ultraman co-production with USA too (although that one never got broadcasted in US). |

If they could get the 60s dub that I saw reruns of in the early 90s, that'd really be cool.

That's on the US Ultraman DVD set, along with the Japanese dub.
Ah, I get ya. I guess Australia is generally more-strict about that stuff? |

Do you mean USA? Well if it USA, they wouldn't allowed profanity on a children show, I don't know much about Australian children show, but I was mind blown when I heard spoiler[s*it being used] on that show. |
