Miryokucon Launches With Fan-Friendly, Intimate Baltimore Convention

Highlights include tea party, Super Art Fight

BALTIMORE (September 21, 2023) – Miryokucon, LLC is pleased to host Miryokucon, an anime and gaming convention, next weekend, Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards.

Miryokucon is an affordable, family-friendly experience for fans longing for a Charm City anime convention.

“Baltimore has been without a full-fledged weekend anime event since the pandemic and we wanted to make it possible for fans to have that experience without having to go to Washington or New York,” said Tom Stidman, Miryokucon's founder and chairman. “Many of us have staffed at those other events, however, and we're bringing some of those experiences and ideas back home with us to Baltimore.”

Highlights of Miryokucon include our Lolita Tea Party, a Japanese-influenced experience with a menu of sandwiches and snacks, guided by cosplay guests Mythril Arts and Violette Verse, with a performance by our maid cafe hosts Pixel Pop Maid Cafe.

We are also hosting a Cosplay Variety Show, where attendees can watch fans perform skits and dances in cosplay, or enter themselves for a chance at an award.

Guests for the first Miryokucon include voice actor Armen Taylor (Netflix's “Ni no Kuni” and “Seven Deadly Sins”), voice actor Kimberley Anne Campbell (“Genshin Impact” and “Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro”), cosplayer ChibiTifa and cosplayer Chiki Cosplay. We are also proud to welcome the Baltimore-based art competition Super Art Fight, the Baltimore video game cover band Quick Save and the Baltimore rock band Thrillkiller.

Weekend badges and day passes are available both online and at the door. Youth badges are available at a discount for attendees 8-12 years of age. Kids 7 and under get in free with a chaperone. Reservations for the Lolita Tea Party or maid cafe carry an additional cost, but seatings are limited.
