Employees of Canadian comics and manga publisher Drawn & Quarterly announced on November 14 that they have formed a union under the Fédération du commerce (FC–CSN) of the Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN), with the Administrative Labor Tribunal of Quebec certifying the union.

The union seeks to promote "transparent and reciprocal lines of communication between employees and employers," as well as putting its employees in a more active role in addressing employment conditions. Later in its introductory statement, the union praised Drawn & Quarterly for "compensating artists above current industry standards," and added union members needed "to be able to see futures for ourselves at D&Q, and to do that, we need salaries that sustain us and benefits that support us to continue to show up for our coworkers and authors."

Workers from Seven Seas Entertainment voted to form a union in May 2022, which the manga publisher voluntarily recognized the following month.
