Film to stream in US & Canada; English dub/subtitle options available
Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Wednesday that it will add the anime film Ringing Bell to its catalogue at 7:00 p.m. EDT on the same day. The film will be available in the United States and Canada with both English dub and English subtitle options.
Crunchyroll describes the story:
Chirin is an innocent though adventurous young lamb whose carefree life on the farm comes to an abrupt end when a wolf murders his mother. Confused and angry, Chirin pursues the wolf into the mountains, seeking revenge. The laws of nature are brutal, however, and hatred alone won't be enough to avenge the loss of his mother. Only the strong survive in the wild, and obtaining that strength may change Chirin forever.
Masami Hata (Little Nemo - Adventures in Slumberland , Stitch! television anime) directed this 1978 Sanrio Films project based on a story by Takashi Yanase (Anpanman).
The film received an English dub and a videotape release by RCA/Columbia Home Video in North America. Discotek licensed the film and released it on DVD in 2014.
