Original manga has 17 million copes in print, new Clear Card manga has 1.9 million copies in print

Spring is here, the sakura blossoms are just past their peak in most parts of Japan, and the Cardcaptor Sakura hype train shows no sign of slowing! The "Sakura Fes 2018: Sakura to Minna no Happy Easter" (Sakura Festival 2018: Sakura and Everyone's Happy Easter) event in Chiba on Sunday (which also happens to be Sakura's birthday) announced that a new "Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibition" will be held at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi Hills in Tokyo starting on October 26.

The exhibition promises a "personal and sensation experience" of the worldview of the Cardcaptor Sakura franchise.

A themed cafe is currently running at Animate Cafe Fukuoka Tenjin, Good Smile x Animate Cafe Akihabara, and Good Smile x Animate Cafe Osaka Nipponbashi from March 23 to May 15. The franchise is also getting its own puzzle-solving game in bookstores in seven metropolitan areas of Japan from March 21 to April 30.

Tokyo's Chiyoda ward is also collaborating with the anime for a cherry blossom festival this spring.

A previous Cardcaptor Sakura exhibition was held in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in 2014-2015 to celebrate CLAMP's 25th anniversary since their debut, as well as the Nakayoshi magazine's 60th anniversary.

The anime adaptation of CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card manga premiered on January 7. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan, and Funimation is streaming the dub on FunimationNow.

The manga's fourth volume shipped on Friday, revealing that the original manga has 17 million copies in print, and Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card has 1.9 million copies in print.
