With this and Triangle Strategy it's a great time to be a SJRPG fan! Just wish I had the time to be one right now.

It's great that its selling so well. I just finished playing it myself, and I enjoyed it.

Imagine how much better it would sell if Vanillaware wasn't anti-PC

They've stated already that PC ports are expensive and admitted to having budget management issues. This grievnce PC players have with them is one-sided.

I wish they had a bigger budget. Like with 13 Sentinels, they couldn't reach 100% of their vision for Unicorn Overlord. I'm a huge fan of both Vanillaware games, so they've still won me over, but knowing that a great product didn't reach the full potential is sad to hear. I'm not surprised that bringing their games to PC would be difficult when they're struggling to manage their budget.

How does this compare to early sales for their other games?. As far as management goes, they seem to do very well working within their budgets. This latest game, while ambitious, still spreads the cost by reusing assets and game features.

To say nothing of seemingly difficult to optimize for.
