Welp, that pretty much confirms this is gonna be a really short season.

I assume this will be around 7 episodes. The final story arc after this one is much longer so I wonder how they will split it up.

The arc after this will probably be a full blown two cour season like the first I'd imagine.

why is that? because of the time slot?

Ninja Kamui didn't start until February 11th and it will have 12 episodes. I don't think a late start necessarily means a short season.

Ninja Kamui is essentially an American production for Adult Swim, so standard rules don't apply. Not saying it *wont* have 12, but Ninja Kamui is definitely not the example to use

Or 2/3 movies.

It's 8 chapters of Manga. In comparison, Mugen Train has around 12 chapters and that resulted in 7 episodes.

I haven't read the manga, and I don't know what to expect going forward, but I've seen some comments theorizing that flashbacks from the final arc could appear earlier to help pad out this mini arc. I have no idea what the "flashbacks" entail (and I'd like to keep it that way), but if this arc is really only 8 chapters long, I'm thinking that theory sounds reasonable.
