OMG what is going on? I'm actually really angry about this as I own season 1 on Blu-ray. I'm also annoyed Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc also still has no UK release. A lot of Crunchyroll's niche anime still getting release dates but not highly popular shows, I'm not complaining about that but I'm still waiting to own both seasons. My only hope is then that Crunchyroll let Anime LTD licence Re:Zero and Demon Slayer like they did for season 1 of both series.

It's almost staggering how quickly Crunchyroll took over the UK's anime licensing scene, at least in terms of current/simulcast shows, only to then completely fudge over the home video market. 6-7 months ago we started seeing it with more niche titles like Sonny Boy, and now it's mainstream ones. Meanwhile, the likes of Anime Limited & MVM are struggling to pick up more recent titles because CR have a stranglehold due to streaming rights.
This was always going to be the end result of allowing corporate ghouls with zero interest in physical releases (regardless of profitability) to take over. Well, the company won't be getting money out of me any other way, so eat shit I guess. It just frees up my disposable income elsewhere. |
