Oh my god, Nodame!! I love the live action series and it will be so nice to be able to rewatch it legally.

Awesome news! I saw a few episodes of this back in the day and loved it, so it'll be nice to finally finish it. Hope they get the specials too.

Got really excited for a second there! Thought I was going to have legal access to the anime series of Nodame Cantabile finally.... I guess this is cool to though.

Yes, does anyone know its current status? (Justin? Any other Answerman?) Last I heard, the Animax English dub was tied up at Sony, after (music?) rights forbid it to be released on disk, so it was trapped at Crackle, and...now it isn't there anymore, although they still have Valkyria Chronicles. Does this mean the series is now hopefully up in the air again?
The ORIGINAL, non-obnoxious, subbed version of Samurai Pizza Cats. Watch Omitsu's missile-launching geisha-wig, as a tribute to Yuko Mizutani. |

I've watched the live-action series and the movie sequels for Nodame and got rather tired of Ueno Juri's performance because of her constant "mugging." This does seem to be a style of Japanese acting from the few live-action series I've watched, but I find it too hammy and distracting.
Now where is the anime version, Crunchyroll? What's Sony's excuse for not licensing it this time around? At one time the Animax dub streamed on Sony's Crackle service, but it was pulled from there a couple years back. I often recommend Nodame Cantabile at places like MAL though I'm always a bit sad that there are no legal methods to watch this series in the US and Europe. |

Aw, come on guys, all this talk for Nodame (I guessing by the comments, it sounds like a good show/series), and nothing for Luluco? >.>
Either way, enjoyed the 4-panel comic so far since it kinda differentiates and similarities with the anime that's currently going, lol. |

The original Nodame anime, wherever you can find it, IS one of the best late-00's post-Bubble anime rom-coms out there, bar absolute none. The J-drama is....okay, if, as Yuna says, you can put up with all that live-actor mugging to play a larger-than-life anime character who's supposed to be a little nutty to begin with. At least it's pretty faithful to the manga/anime, ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzuIKXPLEcE ) , unlike some Sailor Moon series we could name. Otherwise.....nnnno. Nothing for Luluco. |

You can get a properly licensed, legit copy of the first anime season of Nodame Cantabile from Australia via Siren Visual here. You just need an all region player or suitable software.
